What Medium and Style should I choose for my image?
We offer a wide variety of sizes and Mediums for fine art images:
Archive Paper - "Archive Paper" refers to archive-quality photo paper. All the images will look terrific printed on archive paper, with any of the combinations of matting and framing. Luster paper has a slight sheen and will have that luxurious fine art finish. Matte paper is a high contrast, no gloss paper, at an affordable price. We offer a "print only" or a "print with 1" border" option. In this case a 1" border is added to the image size, so an 8x10" photo will arrive 10x12" etc. This is ideal if you want to mount and frame the image on your own.
Metal Prints - High gloss metal is the richest choice and makes the colors and details of the photo come to life even more. High gloss metal has one drawback, and that is glare. If the image is displayed in an area with a lot of light, either natural or from overhead lighting, you are likely to get a very noticeable glare.
If glare is likely a problem, then a matte metal print is a better choice. The image will still have the crisp bright colors but without the glare from the lighting and without a glossy finish.
Canvas Prints - Stretched canvas on a wooden frame is a terrific option for images, and one that I use a lot for my own personal images. Many landscapes and seascapes look lovely on canvas, which tends to soften the image. For larger image sizes, canvas is lighter and easier to hang, a good thing to keep in as you are making your style selections.
